Preheat oven to 375.
Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
In a large bowl, beat together butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer 30 seconds.
Beat in brown and white sugars until smooth.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then add corn syrup, water, and vanilla.
Beat in flour mixture, then fold in chocolate pieces.
Drop by 3 tbsp portions 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake until edges are golden, 11 to 12 minutes.
Let cool 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
