So good, but not for anyone who's trying to loose weight :)
Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and put into large mixing bowl with the chicken and the peas (no need to thaw the peas).
Fry the bacon until browned. Add to the mixing bowl.
In the bacon grease add the onions and cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Add to the mixing bowl.
Whisk the flour into the bacon grease (if you don't have enough add butter, you need 1/4 c. fat) and cook 1-2 minutes. Slowly whisk in the milk until you get a nice sauce. Add thyme and pepper. Add to mixing bowl.
In mixing bowl add fresh parsley. Taste and add salt and pepper if needed. Give everything a good mixing and put into 9x13 casserole. Top with cheese.
Bake at 350(F), loosely tented with foil for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15 minutes more.
