Remove chicken from broth. You should have 6 cups of broth.
Add 1/2 stick of butter and bring to a rolling boil.
Add dumplings (about 10 ) 1 at a time. Turn heat on low and simmer for an hour; stirring gently occasionally. Add chopped chicken.
