Bring your salted water to boil for your fettuccine.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add bacon; cook until crisp. Remove bacon to paper towels to drain, leave the drippings in skillet.
Chop up the bacon and set aside. Sprinkle the chicken breasts with the salt and pepper and cook in the skillet with the bacon drippings, about 6 - 8 minutes each side, until chicken is thoroughly cooked through. At the first flip, add the chicken broth. When done , remove from heat. Cut into bite size chunks and set aside.
Throw your fettuccine noodles into the pot and cook.
Add minced garlic and shallot to hot oil, and sizzle for about 30 seconds. Add the butter, and when melted, sprinkle the flour over all the fat. Cook the flour out for about a minute, then add the heavy cream, stirring constantly. As soon as the sauce begins to thickens, and this happens fast, add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted, then add the chicken back into the skillet and stir until well coated. Lower the heat to the lowest setting and cover the skillet loosely with foil until the noodles are done.
Once your noodles are cooked and drained, put them in a large bowl and pour the Alfredo sauce over them. Toss until noodles are coated, and add a little more cream to the bowl to thin the sauce to your desired consistency.
Plate and sprinkle with bacon bits. Serve with Caesar Salad and/or garlic bread.
