"Chicken noodle soup is the ultimate comfort food. Whether you have a cold or not, it always soothes the soul. As simple to prepare as this soup is, it's soon to become a family favorite. Start by sauteing′ bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts. The bones add more chicken flavor to the broth, and the skin keeps the breasts moist as they slow cook. Don't worry, the skin gets removed after the meat is cooked. Then the meat is shredded and added back to the soup. Add the noodles to the slow cooker right at the end of cooking to ensure that they don't get overcooked. The flourish of scallions and lemon zest add extra flavor to the soup . . ." 2. Set the browned chicken breasts on top of the broth mixture. The bones will enhance the taste of the soup.
3. Curly, wide egg noodles cook quickly and look great in this soup. But you can also use kluski noodles -- they're thicker than other store-bought egg noodles and add a chewier texture.
