Suggest a better description1. Peel the potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch cubes. Place in pot and cover with cold water. Set over high heat and bring to a boil.
2. Uncover, decrease hit and simmer until potatoes are tender, approximately 10-15 minutes.
3. Drain and divide potatoes, set aside 1/3 for the filling. Leave the rest of the potatoes in the pot and add 2 tbsp of butter and 1oz of milk [2tbsp]. Heat until the butter melts. Remove from heat, season lightly with salt, and mash the potatoes, mixing until smooth.
4. Preheat over to 400* F.
5. Prepare the mixed vegetables, cooking over medium heat until done. Remove from heat and mix in the remaining boiled potatoes.
6. In a skillet, heat tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion flakes and heat until fragrant, 1-2 minutes, before adding the chicken and cooking it through.
7. Stir in the flour, thyme, salt, pepper, and chicken broth powder and mix until well blended.
8. Gradually stir in the water and the remaining 3oz of milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for roughly 2 minutes or until the soup thickens.
9. Remove from heat and stir in the vegetable mix.
10. Pour mixture into 9x9 pan, making sure it spreads evenly.
11. Top with the mashed potatoes, starting at the edges to create a seal and smooth with a spatula.
12. Bake 25-30 minutes or until the potatoes begin to brown.
13. Remove from oven and let cool 15 minutes before serving.
