In a large bowl, combine the chickpeas, sliced green onions, zucchini or yellow squash, quartered tomatoes, chopped basil and snipped chives. Toss well with the salt and pepper.
In a small saucepan, add the oil, vinegar, honey, garlic, lime juice and zest. Heat over low heat and whisk until the mixture is warm and garlic cloves are slightly sizzling.
Pour the liquid over the chickpea mixture and toss well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. It can be served warm, but it tastes better as it sits.
It can be served with toasted baguettes.
