Run French onion soup through blender for 1 minute.
Brown ground beef in oil in a 10" skillet. Crumble beef. Dust in 1/2 tsp. salt. Pack beef firmly into pan. Pour blended soup over meat, mash beef with a fork until it looks like rice. Simmer for 5 minutes on low. Add chili powder and pepper. Transfer to 2 1/2 quart sauce pan and add kidney beans, tomato paste, and tomato sauce. Heat for at least 20 minutes.
Served with Saltines and Pimento Cheese sandwiches
