1.Preheat oven to 350 and grease and flour 13x9 pan.
2.Stir together 1st 6 ingredients (dry ingredients) in a medium bowl.
3.In large mixer bowl beat eggs with mixer until fluffy.
4.Beat in oil, water and vanilla.
5.Alternate adding flour mixture with the buttermilk, 4 additions of buttermilk and 3 of flour mixture, beginning and ending with buttermilk.
6.Beat in banana until smooth and pour into pan.
7.Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until it springs back lightly when touched.
