Suggest a better descriptionPreheat the oven to 180?C/350F/gas mark 4. Line a 9 inch square cake tin with foil, shiny side down and butter the foil well. Set the tin aside. Sift the flour, baking powder, cocoa, salt and set aside. Melt the butter in a large heavy based saucepan over a moderate heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and vanilla, then the eggs ?one at a time. Now stir in the sifted dry ingredients and then the nuts. Spread smoothly into the prepared tin. Bake for 20?25 minutes until a skewer inserted in the middle just barely comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 mintues. Then turn out onto a cooling rack. Remove the pan and the foil lining and let it rest until it is cool.
