Mix cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and chopped nuts. Press 3/4 of dough in a 9 x 13 pan. Put aside 1/4 dough. Bake 6 to 8 minutes at 350 degrees F. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of baked cake. Pour caramel over chocolate chips and sprinkle rest of cake dough on top. Bake 15 to 18 more minutes at 350 degrees F.
