Suggest a better descriptionCombine cake mix, eggs, and 1 and 1/2 cans of the cherry filling. Save 1/3 to 1/2 of the second can for garnish on each serving.
Mix until well blended. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Can use PAM spray BAKING which has both.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 min OR until cake springs back when lightly touched. I also sometimes use a toothpick; it will come out clean when done.
Frosting:
In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. After boil continue to stir for 1 minute.
Remove from heat
Stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
Pour and spread evenly over cake. Let it run down the sides of the cake between pan and cake.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and a dollop of the saved cherry topping.
