Melt the butter, and beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and mix until smooth. Sift in the flour and baking soda and stir until just combined. Mix in chocolate. Chill for 1 hour to overnight. Section into 12 cookies, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
