Put butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a bowl and stir until smooth and creamy.
Add egg and vanilla to butter & sugar mixture. Stir well.
Put flour in a medium bowl. Stir in baking soda and salt.
Pour flour mixture into butter mixture. Stir well.
Add chocolate chips and walnuts.
Drop by teaspoon full onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for about 10 minutes.
Cool on wire rack.
