Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Grease bottoms of 12 muffin cups.
Beat egg and then stir in milk, oil and sugar.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients and stir a few times.
Add chocolate chips.
Stir batter until until just moistened. Batter should be lumpy.
Fill muffin cups 2/3 full.
Bake 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately remove from pan
