Whisk eggs, cocoa, cornstarch & 1/4 of milk together until smooth.
In a pan, stir remaining milk, sugar and salt. Over medium heat, bring to a full boil.
Whisk 1/4 of mixture into egg mixture, stirring constantly. Whisk egg mixture into milk and continue whisking constantly and cook until it thickens.
Remove from heat and whisk in chocolate and butter. Mix until chocolat eand butter have melted and mixture is smooth. Whisk in vanilla, press through strainer. Cover tightly with saran to keep from forming a skin and cool to room temp, then refrigerate.
Spoon into pre-baked shell and top with decorative whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
