In a large mixing bowl, beat milk and pudding mix on medium speed of electric mixer for 2 minutes. Gradually add chocolate, mixing until combined. Fold in cool whip. Spread in crust. Freeze at least 4 hours or until firm. Let stand at room temperature about 15 minutes before cutting. Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired
Add pie filling to crust and serve from pan. To avoid breakage, do not remove crust from pan before serving. For golden crust before adding pie filling, brush with a beaten egg white on crust and bake at 375 for 5 minutes.
To cover pie, place inverted plastic lid on open foil of pan and fold foil over edge of plastic lid.
