Heat oven to 375. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 16 triangles.
Spread triangles with melted butter. Sprinkle 1 cup of the chocolate chips evenly over the triangles and gently press into the dough. Roll up from bottom of triangle up to the point. Place point side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Shape into crescents.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Place remaining chips and 1 1/2 tsps shortening in microwave bowl. Microwave for 1 minute and stir.
Drizzle over crescents.
