Whisk together sugar, cocoa and salt in a bowl and set aside.
In a 2 quart sauce pan heat milk and corn syrup until warm.
Add sugar and cocoa mixture to milk stirring constantly until cocoa is melted and sugar is dissolved.
Cook stirring constantly to 234* or soft ball stage.
Remove from heat and stir in butter.
Let set til it reaches 120*. Add vanilla and beat with wooden spoon until thick and glossy (about 3-5 minutes). Add nuts and pour into 8" square pan. Let cool and cut into 1-2 inch squares.
