Best way ever to use up your excess of summer zucchini.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Grease and flour a 13x9 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl cream together sugars, butter, and oil (or applesauce if using).
Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla and stir well to thoroughly mix.
Sift together flour, spices, salt, baking soda, and cocoa powder. Add to bowl and mix thoroughly.
Add grated zucchini and stir until thoroughly combined.
Pour into pan; sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 45 minutes or until center is set.
Serve slightly warm or at room temperature. Excellent with a simple whipped cream topping.
