Have ready: 3 1/2 cups flour
Sprinkle a little of the flour over 2/3 cup chopped raisins, 1/4 lb. chopped pecans and 1/4 cup (10) cut up
candied cherries.
In a large mixing bowl sprinkle 1 pkg. dry yeast in 1 cup warm water & 1/3 cup dry milk. Add 1/2 the flour, 1
tsp. salt and 1/4 cup sugar and mix well with mixer (about 3-4 min.)
Add the rest of the flour, 2 eggs and 1/4 cup melted butter (cooled) and the fruit mixture. Mix another 3-4 min.
with mixer (or if too stiff, by hand.)
Refrigerate for several hours. On a well-floured board or counter, roll into a long rope and form into a tree or wreath.
Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in oven with the light bulb on until doubled in size. Bake at 350o for 25-30
minutes in the middle of the oven.
Frosting
Cream together 1 lb. confectioners sugar (or 2 cups), 1/4 lb. soft butter (or 1/4 cup + 8 oz cream cheese), 1/2
tsp. vanilla extract and a few drops of green food coloring. Add hot milk as needed.
Decorate with green sugar, sliced candied cherries, little silver balls and chopped pecans.
