Suggest a better descriptionCut potatoes into 1” cubes and boil in 2 cups of water, cooking until tender. Drain - RESERVE LIQUID. Set potatoes aside. Measure 1 cup of reserved liquid and set aside. Peel and finely chop onion. Melt the butter and add the onion. Cook until translucent, but not browned. Add the flour, red pepper and black pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes. Gradually add potatoes, the reserved 1 cup of water, milk, sugar and onion mixture. Stir well. Add cheese and ham. Simmer on low for 30 minutes.
