Mix first five ingredients well. Add nuts. Coat well. Place on a greased rimed baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes. Stir periodically - 7 minutes, 6 minutes, and take out after remaining 7 minutes. Let cool completely. Store in air tight container, but usually they don't last that long (they get eaten quickly). Original recipe was printed in simple & delicious magazine, but the instructions were inadequate & required tweeking.
