Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Slowly add water until dough can be made into a ball.
Roll out dough into 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Spread the butter over dough, all the way to the edge. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar, and with cinnamon to taste.
Starting at long side, roll dough into log. Push down on edge to seal. Cut the log into 1 inch pieces. Arrange on baking sheet, cut side up, 3 inches apart. Bake 18 minutes or until browned. Serve warn, or reheat on a skillet. Serve with ice cream and caramel sauce.
