Melt 5 pounds butter in a deep saucepan on low heat for 30 minutes until steam disappears. Set to one side for 30 minutes to let residue settle on bottom of pan. Remove any foam that may still appear on top.
Pour the clear clarified butter in jars and keep in a cool place or store in the refrigerator for future use.
