Rich filling soup for a cold day.
Melt butter and oil in a large soup pot.
Add onion, garlic, & thyme. Cook until soft.
Add flour and stir until heated.
Add stock and bring to boil.
Reduce heat and add cream, bacon, & potatoes, until soft. The mixture should boil for about 7 minutes.
Add corn and season with salt & pepper and parsley.
