Suggest a better descriptionMix and sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Beat the egg, melted shortening and milk together with a rotary egg beater. Add the corn and combine with the dry ingredients, mixing well. Drop by spoonfuls into deep oil (365F) and fry for 3 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Drain on paper.
