Combine all ingredients
use another 2 tbs bacon grease or butter to coat cast iron skillet
heat cast iron skillet for approx 10-15 min @ 450
Remove from oven
pour batter into skillet
return skillet to oven-bake 20 min
additions
*****To make it vegan replace butter, egg, milk and optional cheese with your favorite substitute
add jalapeno and/or cheddar to batter then bake
pre heating skillet makes the bottom of corn bread crunchy and good and not dry
always pre-heat the skillet first with butter or bacon grease.
