Chop cranberries into small pieces and set aside in a small bowl. Combine eggnog, orange juice and vanilla in a small bowl and set aside.
preheat oven to 375 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the flour, baking powder, 1/4 cup sugar, orange zest and salt in a bowl and whisk to combine.
With your fingers, two forks or pastry cutter, work the butter into the flour mixture until thoroughly distributed. Mix in the chopped cranberries.
Gently mix wet ingredients into the dry until a loose dough forms; turn it onto a floured surface. With floured hands, shape the dough into a ball. and flatten it into an inch thick disk. with a 3" biscuit cutter, cut rounds of dough and place them on the baking sheet. Gather the scraps of dough, and press and cut into more scones.
Brush the top of each scone lightly with cream. Sprinkle scones with a little granulated sugar.
Bake scones for 18 minutes or until puffed and golden.
