Put butter, sugar and egg in a mixing bowl. Beat smooth. Stir in juice.
In second bowl measure in flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Stir in orange rind, cranberries and nuts. Empty all into batter, stirring until moistened. Scrape into greased loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3 inch.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Test with toothpick, trying not to poke a whole cranberry. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool on wire rack.
