good basic recipe
melt butter in large skillet over low heat. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk, cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Stir in salt and peppers. Add chicken and simmer until chicken is heated thoroughly. If mixture is too thick add a small amount of water, stirring well. Serve over open biscuits or toast.
