Suggest a better description1. Bring a large pot of water to a slow boil over medium-high heat.
2. Using a sharp knife or vegetable peeler, peel the potatoes and rinse in cold water. Chop the potatoes in halves and/or fourths. (This helps the potatoes cook more quickly & evenly.)
3. Add the potatoes to the pot. Increase the heat to high and bring to a full boil. Cook for 20-30 minutes.
4. The potatoes are ready when a fork slides easily into the potatoes, which should almost but not completely fall apart.
5. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot and turn the heat on low. Mash the potatoes until all the lumps are gone.
6. Turn off heat and add the butter, cream cheese, half-and-half and seasoned salt, salt and black pepper to taste.
