Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, set aside
Cream shortening with sugars. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in Cornflakes and coconut.
Blend in sifted flour mixture.
Roll dough into walnut sized balls and place on greased cookie sheet about 4 inches apart. Flatten (not too flat) with fork.
Bake in 375° oven for about 12 minutes or until golden brown.
