1. Completely soften beans. Drain and put beans in stoneware.
2. Add all remaining ingredients along with the water; mix well.
3. Cover; cook on LOW 10 to 12 hours. (HIGH: 4 to 5 hours, stirring occasionally).
4. Cut ham from bone and return to slow cooker.
For beans: Cover with 3 times volume of unsalted water and bring to boil. Boil 10 minus, reduce heat, cover and allow to simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Soaking in water, if desired, should be completed before boiling. Discard water after soaking or boiling.
