Slice smoked fish thinly. Place a slice of fish on a thin buttered slice of pumpernickel or a crisp cracker.
Top with a spoonful of cucumber dip as a canape, or serve in a bowl with a plate of crackers and a plate of dipping-side pieces of smoked fish for do-it-yourself guests.
