The true "German" way is to use real cream.
Instead I use mayonnaise and enough mild to make a sauce consistency.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Can add garlic salt.
Peel and quarter enough cucumbers to fill the "cream" mixture.
Serve cold over hot mashed potatoes.
It is heaven!
