Heat the oil and butter in a soup pot. Add the onion and saute until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ginger, garlic, and spice and saute until fragrant. Add the broth with the lentils and sweet potatoes. Simmer until lentils and sweet potatoes are cooked, about 20-25 minutes. Add greens and allow to wilt. Just before serving add lemon juice and add salt and pepper, if desired. Add more water if too thick. Serve with optional hot sauce.
