Mix flour and salt together; cut in shortening, add egg youk/milk mixture, toss lightly with fork. Roll 1/2 of dough to fit 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch ungreased jelly roll pan. Sprinkle with cornflakes; place cut apples over corn flakes,; mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over apples; roll remaining 1/2 of dough for top; pinch edges together. Beat egg white until soft peaks form and brush over crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Wile warm, frost with confectioners sugar frosting made from frosting preceding. Drizzle over baked bars.
