Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, Grand Marnier, sugar, orange zest, nutmeg and sea salt together in a bowl.
Place bread slices in a large baking dish. Do not overlap. Pour the liquid mixture over the bread slices. Turn the slices over to coat both sides. Cover and allow to stand 15 to 20 minutes.
Melt the butter in a large frying pan or on a griddle. Cook the slices until browned to your liking, or about 2 - 3 minutes on each side.
Garnish with confectioners' sugar and serve with warm maple syrup.
