Suggest a better descriptionMix granulated sugar, evaporated milk and pitted dates in a medium to large sauce pan. Cook on high, stirring constantly until dates appear to be melted. Stir in butter and remove from range. Add chopped pecans and vanilla. Stir until thick and creamy. Roll onto a damp cloth. (thin pillow cases are preferable). Form into 2" rolls. Refrigerate overnight (roughly 8 hours).
When hard, cut into 1" cubes or roll into 1" balls and coat in confectioners sugar. Serve.
