1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.Line a baking sheet with baking parchment or silpat.
3.Cream the butter and shortening with the sugar and salt until light and

5.Stir in the flour, cinnamon and baking soda and mix well. Fold in the nuts and chocolate chunks.
6.Form into generous tablespoons of batter and drop onto the lined baking
sheet, pressing down slightly on the dough, about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until lightly golden in color and browned at the edges.

Note: can do Pecans instead of walnuts; can add a little cinnamon to the batter, can do part flour and part toasted oatmeal.
