Suggest a better descriptionMix yeast, water, and sugar. Let stand 20 minutes (make sure yeast rises, stir well).
Then while the yeast is rising mix milk, shortening, sugar, and salt. Scald in microwave (around 90 seconds); the shortening doesn't have to be completely melted. But, mix well when it comes out of the microwave.
Add 2 eggs to the milk/shortening mixture and stir. Then, add the yeast mixture. Mix in 4 to 5 cups flour. Let rise approximately 1 hour.
Roll out or shape. Rise again 1 to 2 hours (I usually only let it rise 1 hour this time).
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes, butter tops of rolls while hot.
