In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
I another bowl, with an electric mixer, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat until combined well.
Stir in flour mixture to form a stiff dough.
Add nuts and chocolate chips.
On baking sheet, form dough into 2 slightly flattened logs, and sprinkle confectioners sugar.
Bake logs 35 minutes or until slightly firm.
Cool 5 minutes.
On cutting board, cut diagonally into slices.
Bake slices until crisp.
Cool on rack.
