Suggest a better descriptionAllow bread dough to thaw in fridge overnight. Cut dough into pieces and roll into a ball. Put in a large cookie sheet that has flour on the bottom. Cover the pans with a towel and let rise in a warm spot for an hour. Melt butter in a pan and saute the onion. Add 2 cups of water and potatoes and cook for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of water and add dumplings and salt. Cover and cook between low and medium for 45 minutes until you hear it crackle. (For 3 rolls of bread dough you will need two pans to cook them in for 4 rolls will need 3 pans.)
