Very basic Apple cake that even the kids can help make.
1. Melt butter and allow to cool slightly. Beat butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt and milk with a whisk into a smooth batter.
2. Finally stir in apple slices.
3. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
4. Pour batter into a greased pie dish and smooth out the top. Bake in oven for 30 minutes, then cover with baking parchment/foil and bake for a further 15 minutes.
