My go to easy, economical choc chip recipe from Alison Holst.
Melt butter until just liquid (in microwave), add sugars and egg and mix well with a fork, cool.
Sift the flour and baking soda and mix into butter mixture, along with the choc chips. (Make sure butter cool otherwise choc melts!)
Using one teaspoon to help push the mixture off a second teaspoon, drop teaspoons sized lots onto a lined tray, leave room for spreading.
Bake at 180oC for 8-10 mins or until golden brown, keep an eye on them because they spoil if cooked too long.
When cool, hide in airtight container
