Grease and line a 7" cake tin.
Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Fold in remaining dry ingredients.
Pour into cake tin.
Bake in middle of oven at 170C/350F for approx. 1 hour.
Leave to cool completely and turn out.
Place icing sugar and cocoa in a bowl over a pan of boiling water.
Remove from heat.
Add butter and hot water and beat well till smooth.
Spread over cake quickly.
Leave to set.
