Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Brown the beef and drain. Add the onions, mushrooms and spaghetti sauce.
In a medium bowl, combine the cottage, ricotta, parmesan, 3/4C mozzarella cheese, and eggs.
In a large casserole dish, spread 1/3 of the meat mixture in the bottom of the dish. Next, spread half of the cheese mixture in the dish. Place a layer of noodles on top of the cheese. Spread 1/3 of the meat mixture on top of the noodles, making sure that no noodles are left dry. Spread 1/2 of the cheese mixture on top of the meat. Place a layer of noodles on top of the cheese. Spread the rest of the meat mixture on top of the noodles, making sure that no noodles are left dry.
Cover the casserole dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Uncover the lasagne and top with remaining 1/4C mozzarella cheese. Return to oven uncovered and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
