PREHEAT OVEN TO 350
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs. In another bowl combine the dry ingredients. Gradually stir the dry into the creamed mixture, just until moistened. Beat in the pumpkin.
Divide between the two loaf pans and bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes -- remove -- cool completely on wire racks.
