This is a very easy white bread recipe. It also serves as a pizza dough.
Dissolve honey in luke warm water and then add yeast. Let sit 10 minutes. Meanwhile pour flour into stand mixer bowl with dough hook attachment. Add water and yeast mixture and turn on mixer and knead for a few minutes. Add small amounts of flour as needed to create a dry but almost sticky dough.
You can let rise in mixing bowl, but you'll need to coat sides of bowl with olive oil or butter. It will keep it from sticking as it rises. Cover with towel and let rise for an hour.
Dust top of dough with flour and attach dough hook and knead a few more minutes. Remove from bowl onto lightly floured surface and shape into rectangle shape of bread baking pan. Brush top of dough with melted butter and cut 2 length wise score marks with sharp knife to control cracking.
Place in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. After 30 minutes in oven, rotate pan half turn to allow even browning. Remove from oven. Remove bread from pan and cool on rack. Slice and enjoy with whipped honey butter. Also enjoy with honey baked ham or thanksgiving turkey slices.
For pizza dough. Use same mixing techniques except only use half amount of yeast in water. Let dough rise once. Roll dough out onto floured surface and shape to size of pizza stone or pan. Top with homemade sauce, cheese and favorite toppings. Always make a basic cheese pizza then add toppings with any type of pizza. Bake in 550 degree oven until cheese and toppings are golden. Remove and enjoy.
Homemade sauce: 12 oz can tomato sauce, 2 tbsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp garlic salt. Boil together and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
The honey in this recipe is the ticket.
Don't slice the bread until it has cooled a bit.
